The
ICS SIP is designed to withstand Category 4 hurricane winds which
can generate 155 mph winds. These are winds that can create
extensive damage to the building structure and the resultant devastation
that folks in Florida and the southern states have experienced
and know all too well. The ICS SIP has structural characteristics
that are similar to a steel I-beam.The skins act like the flanges
of an I-beam, and the polyurethane
core provides the web. This assembly provides the strength
that test reports have shown to be three times stronger than frame
construction and thereby provide the strengths to withstand hurricane-force
winds. SIP homes have also shown superior strengths in withstanding
earthquakes such as that of Kobe, Japan and Northridge, California.
